Parking rate changes and policy updates

KUMC parking rate increases and new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking policy will take effect on July 1. Rate increases apply to all KUMC parking garages and surface lots as well as visitor and ADA parking. The increases will help KUMC with parking maintenance as well as parking upgrades. Read more.

Short-term disability: Open enrollment for the new short-term disability benefit begins May 15 and ends June 15. Short-term disability offers income protection if you become sick or disabled and unable to work. During this initial enrollment period, all benefits-eligible KUMC employees are guaranteed coverage regardless of your health. Read more.

Walk Across Kansas: Support Sandra Billinger, PT, Ph.D., as she raises money and awareness for stroke research. She will begin her Walk Across Kansas on May 16. We will provide updates on the kumc.edu website homepage, and you can also track her progress by visiting her Facebook page.

Ryan Spaulding, Ph.D., has been named Interim Associate Vice Chancellor of the Institute for Community Engagement.

Sue Popkess-Vawter, Ph.D., RN, professor, SON, has been named the recipient of the 2013 Phyllis Keeney Lawrence Teaching Award.

Martha Baird, Ph.D., assistant professor, SON, has won the the 2013 Jean Johnson Nursing Research Development Award.
