Loan Programs Overview

The Federal Direct Subsidized Loan is no longer available for graduate and professional students as of July 1, 2012. The overall amount that graduate and professional students can borrow remains unchanged.

Beginning July 1, 2013, Federal Direct Lending will deduct a 1.051% origination fee on Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans, and a 4.204% fee on Federal Direct Parent PLUS and Graduate PLUS Loans.

• Federal Subsidized Stafford
  Subsidized loans for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Federal Unsubsidized Stafford
  Unsubsidized loans for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Federal Graduate PLUS
  Unsubsidized loan for graduate students.
• Federal Parent PLUS
  Unsubsidized loan for the parents of undergraduate students.
• Federal Perkins
  Low interst loan for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need.
• Federal Nursing
  Low interest loan for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.
• Primary Care Loan
  For qualifying medical students who agree to enter and complete a residency training program in primary health care.
• Kansas Medical Student Loan
  A loan established to encourage medical students of Kansas to practice primary care medicin in the State of Kansas.
• Kansas Medical Retroactive Student Loan
  Depending on availability the Kansas Medical Student Loan can be awarded retroactively to medical students.
